A while ago a theatre group came to our school and performed a play called the monkey’s paw. It is about a monkey’s paw that grants wishes but the wishes become curses. The acting was great and the story kept all of us on the edge of our seats. It was very entertaining because the set was great and the theatre was dark to make the scenes more anticipating. In the story there is a woman from India who visits her friends in England. While in her friends’ house her friend asks her about her Monkey’s Paw. She says it is magic and grants three wishes. Her friends family doesn’t believe her and she throws it in a fire. Once she leaves her friends get the Monkeys Paw. They test it out by asking the paw for 200$ and their son leaves from work. Late that night they are worried about their son not being home yet, when they get a knock on their door. Thinking it’s their son, they rush to the door but instead it is the local coroner. He sadly informs them that their son got caught in machinery and brutally died. They are heartbroken and start crying. A few days have past and the wife is still sad, when she exclaims that they should wish for their son to be back. The husband thinks it is a bad idea but after getting pressured by his wife he does the wish, but then realizes his son will come back like a mutilated zombie. Horrified, they rush to the door as they hear moaning and screams outside. The husband quickly takes the paw and wishes for his son to be at rest, and the noises stop. That is the end.
